The Pole Vault Explosion (PVX) is an energetic, day long event where vaulters can showcase their talent in front of hundreds of cheering fans. The event takes place at the St. Charles Riverfest, in Historic St. Charles along the beautiful Missouri River. For athletes, it's an opportunity to compete and meet other pole vaulters. For spectators, it's just plain fun to watch. Bring your family and friends and make a day out of it! In addition to the PVX competition, there will be live music, delicious food, amusement rides and a spectacular fireworks display.PVX has drawn athletes ranging from high school to elite levels. Athletes like Jeff Hartwig, former American Record Holder and Kellie Suttle, 2000 & 2004 Olympian, have competed in the event. Last year's 2009 event featured Olympic Silver Medalist, Toby Stevenson among other elite vaulters.

Registration includes an event T-shirt. For athletes registering after June 17th, T-shirt size and color availability not guaranteed.
*Please Note: All vaulters must be a USATF member prior to competing. Memberships can be obtained through the USATF web link. http://www.usatf.org/membership.

$40.00 when you register and pay online
$45.00 when you register online and pay at the event

Teams: If you have a group of three or more vaulters, pre-register and pay online, you will receive a $5.00 refund per vaulter on the day of the competition.

Registration Instructions: Click PVX Registration button to begin registration.
Register by filling in the form fields and clicking the send button. You will receive a message that you are registered and will be directed to PayPal for online payment. If you choose not to pay online and prefer to pay at the event you are still registered.
Registration fees are non-refundable if the event has to be canceled due to inclement weather. PVX event director and volunteers are not responsible for schedule delays due to inclement weather. Registration questions can be directed to mark_polevaultexplosion.com
Event Schedule
The PVX vault schedule will run throughout the day on a rolling schedule. Registration check-in starts at 8am. Vaulting will begin approximately at 8:30am. Athletes can register and check-in throughout the day and are encouraged to check-in one or two hours before their competition group to allow enough time for warm-ups.Vaulters will be grouped according to PR heights. PAthletes registering on the day of the event should arrive and register at 8am to be assured of appropriate group placement.
Vaulting will begin with Women's Group l. Questions or concerns about vault group placement
should be directed to Mark Aschen, PVX Event Director via the contact tab.
Pole Drop-Off:
There will be a pole drop-off and pick up area on Riverside Drive
across from the pole vault area marked with signs.

As the pole vault coach at Washington University, Lohr mentored four different vaulters to seven of eight possible UAA titles. He coached Morgen Leonard-Fleckman to the 2008 NCAA Indoor National Championship in the pole vault, and another All-America finish at the 2008 outdoor championships.
Before coming to Washington University, Lane spent three years (2004-2006) as the head track and field coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. He led the Lions to a pair of men's NAIA indoor national championships, winning titles in 2005 and 2006.

and St Louis native.
Jeff has competed as a professional vaulter for 15 years and was coached by pole vault guru Earl Bell for over 20 years. In addition to managing his own training program, Jeff has worked many pole vault camps and helped vaulters of all levels to improve.
